Neck
We offer you a comprehensive range of services for the diagnosis and treatment of the entire neck area. This includes the soft tissues of the neck (thyroid gland, lymph nodes, salivary glands), larynx, mouth and throat.
Thyroid diseases
A swelling of the thyroid gland can be caused by a diffuse enlargement or a nodule of the thyroid gland. For further clarification, we use an ultrasound scan and, if necessary, a fine needle aspiration.
Salivary gland diseases
Tumour of the salivary gland: We use ultrasound and fine needle aspiration for further clarification.
Inflammation of the salivary glands
This is often a drainage disorder due to a saliva stone. We can determine this using an ultrasound scan.
Foreign body sensation
There are various causes for this, which we can determine through a detailed anamnesis discussion, in the fibre endoscopic examination and, if necessary, in an ultrasound examination.
Hoarseness
Hoarseness that lasts longer than 4 weeks requires clarification of the vocal folds.
Tonsillitis
Acute tonsillitis sometimes requires antibiotic therapy. In the case of recurrent tonsillitis, tonsillectomy is occasionally necessary.
Lump on the neck
A lump on the neck can have numerous causes:
- Enlarged lymph nodes Lymphomas (lymph gland cancer)
- Neck cysts
- Abscesses
- Metastases from malignant tumours
For further clarification, we perform an ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration.
